NEPAL ELEPHANT WALK SANCTUARY
Building a new future for the elephants of Nepal
Comfortably situated on the outskirts of Nepal's lush Chitwan National Park, an area rich in natural beauty and biodiversity, Nepal Elephant Walk Sanctuary (NEWS) aims to create the first 100% ethical and humane sanctuary for the many hard-working, elderly and ailing elephants in the region.

At NEWS, elephants will not be forced to give rides, bathe with tourists, put on shows or be chained. They will have access to proper veterinary care as well as the ability to make their own choices. With generous help from experts around the world and you, the Nepal Elephant Walk Sanctuary can become a reality.
Dedicated to rescuing captive elephants working in the tourist industry.
Working with mahouts, veterinarians and volunteers, we will build a safe haven for the recuperation and respite care for the retired elephants.
Educating local communities, schools, tourists and the international community about the challenges faced by elephants in Nepal.
